Wendy Lynn Gamble Henke, died Oct. 4, 1990, of cancer.
She was born June 19, 1961, at Salt Lake City to George Gean and Ella Gail Staley Gamble. She married Owen Richard Henke, Oct. 3, 1980 in Las Vegas, Nev. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
She had been active in the LDS Church and served in many capacities including Primary and the Young Women' presidency. She owned and operated Delta Farmers Group Insurance office. She also loved genealogy, crafts and gardening.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Samantha Lynn and Rebecca Jo, all of Hinckley; parents, Cecil W. and Florence Cook Henke of Flora Vista, N.M.; mother, Ella Gamble of Delta; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Dean (Patty) Harris of Cedar City; Mrs. David (Vickie) Peterson of Abraham; Mrs Greg (Cindy) Kunz of Georgetown, Idaho; George D. Gamble of West Germany; Russel J. Gamble, serving in the Houston, Texas, LDS mission; Melvin Gamble and Laura Gamble, both of Delta, grandmother Hazel Staley of Riverton. She was preceeded in death by her father, a brother and a sister.
Funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Delta First Ward LDS Chapel. Friends may call at Nickle Mortuary, 190 S. Center, Delta, tonight between 7 and 8 and at the chapel on Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in Hinckley Cemetery.

Wendy Lynn Gamble Henke, age 29, called home October 4, 1990, Provo, of courageous battle with cancer.
Born June 19, 1961 at Salt Lake City to George Gean and Ella Gail Staley Gamble. Married Owen Richard Henke, October 3, 1980, Las Vegas, Nevada. Later solemnized Manti LDS Temple. Active in LDS Church serving in many capacities including Primary and Young Women's Presidency. Owned and operated Delta Farmers Group Insurance office. Loved genealogy, crafts, gardening.
Survived by husband and daughters, Samantha Lynn and Rebecca Jo, Hinckley; Owen's parents, Cecil W. and Florence Cook Henke, Flora Vista, New Mexico; mother, Ella Gamble, Delta; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Dean (Patty) Harris, Cedar City, Mrs. David (Vickie) Peterson, Abraham; Mrs. Greg (Cindy) Kunz, Georgetown, Idaho; George D. Gamble, West Germany; Elder Russel J. Gamble, Houston, Texas LDS Mission; Melvin Gamble and Laura Gamble. both Delta; grandmother, Hazel Staley, Riverton, Utah. Wendy was called home to join Father, Baby brother, Sister Mary, and niece Charity Ann Peterson.
Funeral services Monday, October 8, 1990, 11 AM, Delta 1st-2nd Ward LDS Chapel. Friends may call at Nickle Mortuary, 190 South Center, Delta on Sunday 7-8 PM and at church on Monday from 10-10:45 AM. Burial, Hinckley Cemetery.

The records of Marion S Cook, 45 S 760 Kaysville, UT 84037 had this wife as Ella Phippen, b. Abt 1852, Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie, Iowa and married to George Cook Abt 1870 at Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie, Iowa. This seems doubtful as George Cook is listed on a census as being in Cedar Fort in 1870.
New information has come to us from Mike Jensen, 2255 Panorama Way, Holladay, Utah 84124 for the Phippen family (both genealogy and a history of Joseph Freeman Phippen, who is the father of Ellen Mariah) which indicate the information now shown.
