      • RESIDENCE: His family was in Penfield, Monroe, New York at the time of both
        the 1820 & 1830 census. In September of 1835 his family was living in
        Carlton, Orleans, New York at the time of his fathers death. Because he was
        under the age of 14 years the court appointed John Stevens as his Guardian.

        MARRIAGE:There is a marriage of an Alfred Cook from Penfield in 1855 that
        probably is the correct marriage. The parantage needs verified either from
        death records or other sources.

        SOURCES:
        Alfred was one of seven individuals Abiel Cook's estate in Michigan was
        divided among. He was also one of three children of Abiel's that was a
        minor when when Abile died 9 Sep 1835. Index of Wills and Administrations
