- Doris Evelyn Olson Davies was sealed to her parents on the 7 Aug 1990. I was at the Jordan Temple that day with my Grandmother. I was proxy for the Baptism of her mother Hannah Johnson Olson. notes written by grandaughter Jenny McEwan, daughter of Janet Davies Parker.
Grandma died at the hospital tonight. The 29th of May 1996.
DEATH: Doris passed away in the Jordan Valley Hospital located in West Jordan.
OBITUARY: Doris Olson Davies Lake Point- Doris Olson Davies, 82 passed away May 29, 1996 in West Jordan, Utah. Doris was born in Dalbo,Minnesota to Oscar and Hannah Olsen. When she was 18 years old, she converted to the LDS Church and came to Salt Lake when she answered an add to care for six motherless children in Lake Point, Utah. She eventually fell in love with the children and their father. They married and had three more children. Doris has been very active in the church since her conversion. She went to nursing school in her late 40's. She worked at LDS Hospital for several years, which were her most fufilling years of employment. She was a temple worker for several years at the Salt Lake Temple, and she and Dewey worked at the Jordan Temple for several years. She is greatly loved and respected by her family and her community.
Survived by husband, Brigham Dewey Davies; children, Howard(Clarine), Farrel (Gloria), Gilbert (Jean), Keith (Pat), Thelma (Kenneth)Gollaher, Darlene Welcker, Janet (Walt)Parker, and Jerry (Linda); 33 grandchildren; 100 Great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and sister Leone (Tom) Keegan.
Preceded in death by son, Burton; son in-law Max Welcker, and granddaughter, Rosan Randle.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1, 1996, 1p.m. at the Lake Point Ward Chapel, where friends may call Saturday, 11:45-12:45 p.m. Internment, Lake Point Cemetery. Funeral directors, Peel Funeral Home.
