      MONROE COUNTY NEW YORK SURROGATE COURT DOCUMENTS
      Surrogate Court document dated 5 June 1868 appointing Emeline Rundel, 'of
      the town of Penfield in Monroe County, widow of Calvin Rundel, late of
      Penfield, ... alleged died intestate' administrator of Calvin Rundel's
      estate. - No specific date of Calvin Rundel's death was given.

      Birth, Death and Marriage dates received from Barbara Bridges of 1245
      Chesaning Road, Montrose, MI 48457. She obtained them from
      Calvin's headstone in Penfield, New York. Received by me, Ronald S
      Cook, June 2, 1995. According to the headstone Calvin was 66 years
      and 1 month old when he died.
      The following copy from a newspaper article was also received from Mrs
      Bridges as listed above:
      'Abstracted from newspaper article: Taken from Rochester Union
      and Advertiser written May 11, 1868. Microfilm found at Rundel
      Library in Rochester, New York. (Jan-Jun 1868)

      'Calvin Rundel died at his residents at the age of 66 and 4
      Months. He came to Pennfield with his father Ezra from Chenango
      County in 1808. He settled on what is now know as the Abijah
      Ross Farm.
      'In 1829 he married, bought and took possession of Ralp Camp
      farm 2 and 1/2 miles north of Pennfield.
      'He was a worthy man and a good citizen. He raised 10 children
      -- all but one survive him.
      'Wm. and Abijah Ross and Chester Clark married his sisters.
      Mrs. Wm. Ross and Mrs Chester Clark survive him.
      'He was a long time demoncrate. His boast was that he never
      failed to go to the poles and never failed to vote democrate. His
      first vote was for Andrew Jackson.'

      Road Montrose, MI 48457. She obtained it from the Emeline's

      she died.

      Research Dept., The Genealogocal Socity states as follows: '13th May 1874..
      at the instance of Henry Freeman Cook and his several wives...Abial Cook (dead) to Lois Chapman.' (Book I, p 331, of the Endowment House Sealings.)
      NOTES:
      PROPERTY: Purchased property in Gaines, Orleans, New York in 1826 and sold it
      in 1834. Purchased property in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1835 but died before
      he could move to Kalamazoo, Michigan. A document dated 10 Mar 1840
      assigned property of deceased to his heirs at law. 'Pursuant to a warrent
      to us directed by the Hon. the probate court for the County of Kalamazoo
      State of Michigan we the subscribers having been first sworn agreeably to
      the directions of said warrent have appraised on our said oath, all the real
      estate whereof Abiel Cook late of Orleans County state of New York,
      deceased intestate died siezed within this state at the sum of One Thousand
      One Hundred Ninety four dollars and 20 (twenty) cents. Whereupon we have
      set and divided the said estate to and among Calvin Rundell, Hiram Cook,
      Edward Willard, Richard McOmber, Peter Crippen, Alonzo Cook, Alfred Cook,
      the heirs to said deceased as follows..' The addresses nor the relationship
      of these persons to the deceased were not given.
      Abiel lived in Penfield, Monroe, New York from probably around the
      1810 until at least 1830. Need to search land records to see if he owned
      land in Penfield.

      Cook Dayton was listed as 'Grand Daughter' when she was baptized for Lucy
      Chapman and 'Grand Niece' when she was baptized for Lois Chapman.

      in a school a mile south from Two Bridges, Isaac Mason, Hervey Blood,
      Lemuel Willard, ABiel Cook, Jeremiah Newval, William Reed, Dolly Reed,
      Gracilla Blood, Laura Tilden, Eliza A Tilden, Esther Mason, Rachel
      Newval, and Fanny Rice, members of the Baptist Church in Gaines, declared
      themselves a regular Baptist Church. On the 11th of July the
      organization was recognized by a council held for that purpose. '

      Death: Report filed 1 May 1837 with the Surrogate Court of of Orleans,
      County, New York by Calvin Rundel, administrator of Abiel Cook's
      estate says, 'That the widow of said deceased Lois Cook died in
      October last...' This letter is a part of the Abiel Cook's Probate
      packet, on file with the probate court of Orleams County in Albion,
      New York.

      The complete text of note from Lysander Berry to Hanna Cook Dayton reads as
      follows: 'Your Grandfather was William Cook, he had two brothers Job Cook
      and Byle Cook, William Cook your grandfather and his brother Byle married
      two sisters sisters Lucy Chapman and Lois Chapman. William married Lucy,
